NSTI SSP ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS

Academic
Level:
 
Current college freshmen, sophomores, and juniors

Award
Type:

Ten week summer research experience at one of 3 NASA Centers: Ames Research Center in Moffett Field, CA, Johnson Space Center in Houston, TX or Glenn Research Center in Cleveland, OH

Citizenship:

Open to U.S. citizens, including residents of Puerto Rico, the Virgin Islands, and other U.S. territories

Deadline:

EXTENDED to February 8, 2010

Eligible
Institution:

Any Accredited, U.S. Institution (i.e., Historically Black Colleges and Universities, Hispanic-Serving Institutions, Tribal Colleges and Universities, Majority Institutions, and other Minority Institutions).

Undergraduates attending NSTI Cluster Schools are strongly encouraged to apply.

NSTI Cluster schools: California State University Fullerton, Jackson State University, Jarvis Christian College, San Francisco State University, Savannah State University, Southern University and A&M College, Texas Southern University, Tougaloo College, Tuskegee University, University of Texas at El Paso, and Wilberforce University.

GPA:

Minimum 3.0 on a 4.0 grading scale (B average and above). If the applicant attends an institution where scales other than 4.0 are used, the applicant’s GPA must correspond to a "B" average.

Requirements:

Applicants must meet the following:

Must be a member of an underrepresented group, which includes women, ethnic minorities and persons with disabilities majoring in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) discipline.
